Monday marks 119 years since John A. Davis and his parents were Baptized .

First Baptist of Afton, NY as it looks today

On Sunday, January 26, 1890 at the First Baptist church in Afton, NY an 18 year old John Adelbert Davis was baptized. The previous month in December of 1889 an evangelist campaigned had been held in the village and John went forward and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. The Reverend B. Stone, a former pastor of Afton, came and baptized John A. Davis and his parents Charles and Hulda(h) Davis (who had never been baptized) along with ten others.

It amazes me how God used John in the creation of a Bible school only 10 years later in the summer of 1900 at the age of 28.
